Since 1998 year
We started raising bees of 6 colonies in 1998. By year 2000, we expanded to over 200 colonies migrating every three months to different inland towns of Bohol and of- ficially called the business Bohol Bee Farm. As pandemic hit, we stopped the bee farming since we have no access to order quality queen for the hives. For now, we get our supply of limited honey from other bee- keepers and local honey hunters. We diversified the business to food production like Ice Cream making using coconut milk, Cassava processing for chips and lumpia wrapper and other local delicacies using our own resources which is sustainable. Bohol Bee Farm started with just 4 workers year 2000 and pre-pandemic there were 568 employees and 70% are women.
